Driven by centuries-old crafting techniques

Kumihimo is the traditional Japanese art of making braids or strings. Its history dates back to the 6th century. The word kumihino literally translates to ‘gathered threads. In the past, braiding was considered a form of meditation practiced by monks. Straps made with this technique were used by samurais to hold weapons and armor. Now they can become
a part of your photography equipment.

Just like photography, the manufacturing process of our handmade camera straps requires patience and focus. That makes them different, exclusive, and exceptional.

We offer two types of silk straps - Mottainai and Maatarashi. Each of them is unique. Each of them has a story. Become a part of this amazing history and open its new chapter with us.
